May 2023 President’s Message

It is hard to believe that we already are almost half way through 2023.

Many of you attended our meetings to hear the great national and local speakers we’ve had this year, and many of you have encouraged us to enhance our giving programs. Joe Sheffey, Chairman of our Scholarships Committee, discussed at the last meeting how your efforts have helped us to be able to provide $15,000 in scholarships to deserving Collier County students who have demonstrated strong Republican values. In addition, our club has distributed $3,000 to support veteran services in Collier County

In the past, we have done this without being a designated non-profit organization. However, responding to member requests, we launched an effort to create a nonprofit foundation so that your donations to our special events can be tax deductible. The name of this new non-profit organization is Men’s Club of Collier County Foundation, and our application for tax-deductible status is pending.

I want to express my gratitude for the dedication and commitment of our members. Your passion for conservative values and principles has inspired me and has been the driving force behind our success. We have grown in numbers, and our membership now represents a diverse and vibrant community of like-minded individuals.

In addition, we’ve worked jointly with the other Republican clubs in Collier County to continue to build our Republican base. See photos from a recent event for a joint “Going Away/Retirement gathering for Jennifer Edwards, our former Collier County Supervisor of elections.

As a club, we have also been actively involved in educating the community about Republican candidates in local, state, and national elections. We have hosted candidate forums and meet-and-greets with elected Senators and Congressmen. We want to ensure that you know who the Republican candidates are, and help all Republican candidates get their message out to voters. Our efforts have paid off, and we are proud to have played a role in the victories of many Republican candidates.

Looking ahead to the coming year, we have a lot to be excited about. We will continue to support Republican values and work to promote these conservative values in our community. We will also be expanding our outreach efforts, with a focus on engaging young people and reaching out to underrepresented communities.

We believe that investing in the next generation of Republican leaders is critical to ensuring the long-term success of our party and our values.

Finally, I want to express my appreciation for your continued support and dedication to our club and our community. Your involvement and contributions have been invaluable, and I look forward to working together to build an even stronger Republican Men’s Club of Collier County.
