The Melo Minute September 25th, 2021 – Happy Daughters Day! One Down, Five To Go! Team Melo hit the ground running this week! From special events to having my first experience as Vice-Chair of the Post-Secondary Education & Lifelong Learning Subcommittee, we have been busy representing you in Tallahassee. I look forward to working with Chairwoman Amber Mariano from House District 36 to continue keeping Florida #1 in our nation’s Higher Educational System and creating further opportunities for continued education. Remembering Our Heroes in Law Enforcement Upon entering the Capitol this weekend, I attended the Florida Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Service that acknowledges the sacrifice of Florida’s law enforcement and their families. There are truly no words to describe how humbling an experience it was to see our heroes honored in such a dignified way. The ceremony was a beautiful tribute to all who keep us safe and work diligently to preserve, protect, and defend the lives, property, and constitutional guarantees of all Floridians. Naples Classical Academy Grand Opening! Congratulations on the official opening of Naples Classical Academy! NCA is a charter school that broke ground in January of 2021 and is now servicing around 1,000 young scholars K-10 and has plans to open grades 11 & 12 in the near future. In partnership with Hillsdale College, NCA has implemented a curriculum that encourages their students to pursue academic excellence. We wish them all the best!
